I suck.  Seriously.  I really really do.  I’m HORRIBLE at continuing to go and nearly as bad at staying once I’m there.  So I’ve set a mini-goal for this one.

ATTEND ALL SCHEDULED CLASSES AND TUTORIALS FROM 25 MARCH THROUGH 09 APRIL AND FROM 14 APRIL THROUGH 17 MAY.

The gap in there is because that’s Easter weekend and I *have* to go to West Virginia with K.  It’s the only time he sees his extended family on his mom’s side so it’s a big deal.  I’ve also never painted Easter eggs so I’m kind of excited.  Unfortunately, it means that I miss two solid days of class.  That’s gonna suck.  The up-side is that I might be able to attend a hair show in New York that month so that’ll get me extra hours (I’m also allowed to miss a day for that because I get credit for it).  Plus, I’ve been doing decently well at showing up a half hour early so every two weeks that gets me a day’s worth of hours.

I’m *hoping* this helps me focus.  It may, it may not.  All I know is that I need to do something or I’m going to end up on the staff’s shit list and no one wants to deal with that.

004: Update at least monthly with current status
Ok, I’m a week late. Sue me, life’s been busy.

009: Maintain an 85% attendance at school
Um. This has been a bit of a problem. January was shot, February probably was as well, and I’m not looking so great in March. If I don’t miss ANY more days this month I’ll probably be ok. I’m hoping that happens because this next week is intense and after that we start the cutting module which is what I’ve been looking forward to forever.

026: Go to Ireland
K got a promotion and a raise so we’re thinking of hitting up London and Dublin this September. I’m vastly homesick so it’ll be a good way to see my chosen family and get in a goal as well. With this will probably come #030 (Get a Claddagh ring in Ireland), but not #031 (Get an Aran sweater from the Aran Islands) just because if I’m doing an Ireland tour I want it to be at least a week long and this trip will only be two weeks total.

067: Get back into cooking
Thanks to everyone who helped me with this, I started cooking for a week straight…and then school got hectic. I still cook at least a couple of times a week though and K has started liking food (amazing) so when things settle down I’ll do it more often.

091: Complete my Pokédex
Geeky, I know. I’ve been playing Diamond since it came out though and I’ve yet to even finish the base plot. I’m at a little over 110 right now and there are…a lot…to go. So I’ve been playing during my lunch breaks as a way to relax between the endless number of roller sets I have to do.

095: Send 101 postcards on Postcrossing
So far I’ve sent 19 cards. Five to Finland, three to Germany, and one each to Australia, Austria, Belarus, China, Japan, the Netherlands, Portugal, Switzerland, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania.

099: Get a bigger apartment
Along with that promotion and raise K got comes with the ability to get a bigger place. We’re looking at a few closer to school, but so far the search has kinda failed. On the up-side, if we manage to get one, most come with pools and fitness centres. I could REALLY go for a pool. And a puppy.

Most of my goals have been put off this month due to an over abundance of school projects. With any luck I’ll get back into things when I’m down to just one massive cutting project for the month. Not likely, but a boy can dream.

I’ve started cleaning the kitchen (rather, K has started cleaning the kitchen), I’ve found a grocery store next to school that I can pop by on the way home.  However, I have no recipes.  I have ONE for tonight and a couple of food blogs I want to go through and browse the back entries for, but that’s about it.

So I’ve come with a bit of a cry for help.  What are your favourite food blogs?  I’m on a few recipe sites, but I like the blog format better because I’m visual and need pictures to help me out, something not all recipe sites have.  I’m pretty easy to please food wise, always willing to try new things.  I can’t do vegan because I have pernicious anaemia so I need my animal products, but I have no issues with vegetarian dishes.  Other than that my only criteria is that the food is healthy and easy to make.

I’m also getting into making bento lunches because I’m bored with sandwiches and they’re a nice throwback to my childhood so if anyone has links for that I’d love you forever :-D

095: Send 101 postcards on Postcrossing
So far I have sent nine cards and have five more travelling towards their destinations. I’ve only gotten two back which is rather disappointing, but hopefully the rest will catch up.

The countries I have sent to are the Netherlands (01), Finland (04), Japan (01), Germany (03), Portugal (01), Austria (01), USA (01), China (01), and Australia (01). I’ve received cards back from Portugal (01) and the USA (01). I’m actually amazed I’ve not gotten one from Estonia yet, that seemed to be the big one back when K was participating.

If anyone’s interested in seeing the cards I get back, I’ve set up a subdomain to keep track. Check it out at postcrossing.kolyafloit.com. You can also see my Postcrossing profile which has some of the cards I’ve sent out.

002: Take a picture of every item accomplished (when possible)
One down, 94 to go (I think, not sure if all of them will have pictures).

003: Update when major items are completed
Two out of 101 so far. W00t.

004: Update at least monthly with current status
That’s rather what I’m doing now…

021: Learn Esperanto
First lesson done, need to mail it back in. Because that’d be useful. First I need to get envelopes. And domestic stamps.

062: Buy the awesome, Mandarin-collar tux I want
DONE! See the update.

069: Keep up with the weekly Torah portions
Two so far. Let’s see how long this lasts.

070: Start going to Temple regularly
Went this past Friday. With any luck we’ll keep going, with the exception of the monthly support group which also happens to meet on Fridays.

095: Send 101 postcards on Postcrossing
Seven sent, two more waiting on stamps (rather, one waiting on stamps, one that I was running too late to mail today). So far I’ve sent postcards to Germany, Japan, Finland (x2), the Netherlands, Portugal, Austria, Encino (California), and China.
